MUN™ · In development
A console with character. Games that make it shine.
We’re building an independent console where hardware, software, Game Cards and games are designed together.
Why MUN
Bring back the magic of a console at home.
Switching on a console used to mean stepping into a world you knew: the cartridge in your hand, the shelf full of games, the afternoon with friends. We feel that magic has been slipping away. MUN is here to bring it back, with new games made for it.
MUN comes from the moon, and sounds like it: the moon that closes the logo, and the one MUN OS follows every day.
Iván Moreno · Play MUN
Games that stay with you.
Physical and complete on their Game Card, with no account and no connection. You collect them, lend them and swap them with friends.
Made to last.
A game on its Game Card does not depend on servers that one day switch off.
An authentic machine.
Hardware made only for playing, with an open system anyone can look into and try.
By and for games.
Hardware, software and Game Cards are designed alongside the games, and each game can dress the console in its own identity.
The consoleIn design
A machine with a personality.
We picture it beside your TV: an amber light that breathes as it switches on, the Game Card going in under that light, the moon that MUN OS sets to the day’s phase. We are designing it around what MUN OS already does. The board is being evaluated and will have an official configuration, ARM64.
What we are after
- Authentic hardware, built for features of its own.
- Power for developers to innovate and dare to be original.
- Easy to make games and bring them to MUN.
- 100% offline: play, play and play.
MUN Shapev1 · works today
The game starts before you press Play.
With MUN Shape, the Game Card dresses the console in its game’s identity while it is in.

- 1Its materials The menu and the game’s panel, in its colours and materials, with its sounds and transitions.
- 2Its world Behind the menus, in layers, with light and motion.
- 3Its card The Game Card object, with a window onto its game.
Game Cards
Your game, for good.
The complete game and your save live on the Game Card, with no account and no activation server. That is how MUN OS already works, with virtual cards. The physical ones are prototypes for now: a cartridge with a microSD card inside.
- Buy.Buying a game means owning it again. A Game Card starts its game with no account and no activation server.
- Own.What’s yours travels with you. Your saves live on the card and carry on at another console.
- Play.Insert it and play. No connection and no library to manage.

Roadmap
What comes next.
In order and without dates: working goals, not a promise of sale, production or delivery.
NowWe are here
System, hardware and a developer kit
We are building the three together, so that bringing or making a game for MUN is extremely easy.
- MUN OS, release by release, open and tested.
- The board integrated, and the design of the console and its Game Cards settled.
- A dev kit to port or make games, with us beside you all the way.
Next
Games on the hardware
Tower of Chaos and two more games, running on the real console.
- Performance, controllers, sound and storage, tested with real games.
- The first studios, porting their games with the dev kit.
Later
A campaign, if you are with us
Once the prototype convinces and players and studios are interested, we will propose a campaign.
- Show the prototype and its tests.
- Listen to those who play and those who make.
